We map individual pathways to organizational and community-level change, and added a fifth level that measures societal-level change over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Networks:&nbsp;<\/strong>Professional and personal networks are created as part of scholarship and capacity-building programs. We use&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iie.org\/Research-and-Insights\/Evaluation-and-Impact-Studies\">Social Network Analysis&nbsp;<\/a>(SNA) to map participant and program networks, adding advanced analysis to study how networks change as a result of program efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Advocacy Campaigns<\/strong>:&nbsp;IIE has experience measuring the impact of advocacy efforts of programs, including campaigns, legislation, and other policy-related interventions. We have worked with clients to define advocacy impact on organizations, communities, and broader society and establish metrics on how to measure and track advocacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Evaluation Expertise<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Needs Assessments and Baseline Studies:&nbsp;<\/strong>IIE specializes in providing deep contextual analysis to identify underlying problems and determine and address the needs of an intervention. We use inclusive practices to map out problem and objectives trees and goals prior to program start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Theory of Change (ToC) &amp; Logic Models:&nbsp;<\/strong>In collaboration with clients, IIE maps out and visualizes logical descriptions of program interventions, as well as associated logic models and indicator frameworks. ToC and Logic Models can be developed at the beginning of a project or during implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Setting Up a Monitoring &amp; Evaluation (M&amp;E) System:&nbsp;<\/strong>IIE provides services related to ongoing monitoring systems, setting up M&amp;E plans, data collection techniques, and drafting instruments, as well as simple techniques to analyze and present data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Longitudinal Impact &amp; Tracking Studies:&nbsp;<\/strong>IIE has proven experience designing and implementing&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iie.org\/Research-and-Insights\/IFP-Alumni-Tracking-Study\/About\">longitudinal studies<\/a>&nbsp;to measure the impacts of education and development interventions over time. These assessments are frequently implemented after the conclusion of a program, and often require expertise in alumni engagement, longitudinal research design, and panel studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Participatory Evaluations:\u00a0<\/strong>We use participatory evaluation approaches to meaningfully involve stakeholders in shaping the questions, interpreting the findings, and identifying recommendations. This strengthens the quality and relevance of the data while building trust, shared ownership, and more actionable results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Photovoice<\/strong>:&nbsp;IIE uses participatory photography (photovoice) to engage participants, better understand their contexts, and visually demonstrate impact to program funders. The methodology can also be applied at the needs assessment or baseline program stages to help focus the programming. Facilitated discussions surrounding photos encourage participants to share and learn about each other\u2019s lives and work and reflect on how programs relate to their experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Outcome Harvesting:&nbsp;<\/strong>IIE has worked with clients whose programs take place in complex environments or have unclear pathways to the impact they are intending to track. In these cases, we have employed outcome harvesting, an evaluation technique that allows us to work backwards from impact to the distinct program components that contribute to that change. This can take place at any point in the program implementation process and be used as a design tool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Program Areas of Expertise<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Leadership Development:\u00a0<\/strong>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iie.org\/Research-and-Insights\/Evaluation-and-Impact-Studies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">IIE Leadership Matrix<\/a>\u00a0identifies key competencies related to leadership development. It serves as the foundation for how we define, measure, and strengthen leadership across programs, providing a consistent yet adaptable framework. This approach has enabled us to conduct leadership-focused evaluations across multiple sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>International Fellowships &amp; Scholarships:&nbsp;<\/strong>Our evaluation work focuses primarily on assessing the effectiveness of international fellowship and scholarship programs that benefit undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and mid-career professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Faculty Exchange &amp; Diaspora:&nbsp;<\/strong>We have conducted several evaluations of professional exchange programs that focused on academics and faculty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Institutional Partnerships:&nbsp;<\/strong>We have mapped the outcomes of institutional partnerships in research and higher education, including potential outcomes on the institutions\u2019 capacity, sustained joint research, faculty and students, and network building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Women &amp; Girls:&nbsp;<\/strong>Our evaluations that focus on women and girls include secondary education pathways programs, such as IIE\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iie.org\/Learn\/Blog\/2013\/03\/2013-March-Higher-Education-Readiness-Program\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Higher Education Readiness program<\/a>, as well as women\u2019s leadership and professional&nbsp;programs for undergraduate and graduate education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Global Workforce Development<\/strong>:&nbsp;IIE works with sponsors and local partners to create and deliver customized global workforce development and internship programs aimed at providing youth with work, training, and education opportunities in a variety of STEM, skilled, or technical fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Scholarship Management<\/strong>:&nbsp;IIE offers a suite of scholarship management services, which are customizable for each sponsor to fulfill their vision and meet their goals including: program design, monitoring support and impact and evaluation.
