Through training, educational projects, professional development and mentorship over a six-month full-time program, Fellows will gain advanced skills, hands-on experience, and draw on OceanX\u2019s international connections that not only build their career, but foster ocean literacy and leadership on a global scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Fellowship program contributes to the goals of the UN Ocean Decade and SDG 14 by cultivating the next generation of ocean leaders who will drive innovation, inspire global audiences, and expand ocean literacy to foster ocean protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fellows receive a stipend and are fully remote. AI Fellow<\/strong> \u2013 Design and apply multimodal AI systems in collaboration with OceanX teams to accelerate ocean science insights and deliver impactful exploration and conservation stories.<\/button>\n<div class=\"accordion-content\">\n\t\n\n<p><strong>Role Summary: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this role, the <strong>Ocean Futures Fellow \u2013 AI<\/strong> will collaborate with OceanX team members across data, science, education, and communications to design, build, and improve AI-enabled workflows that advance OceanX\u2019s mission: bringing impactful ocean exploration, discovery, and conservation stories to the world\u2014and accelerating the ability of ocean science to generate insight from complex data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This Fellowship is intentionally designed to support Scientific <strong>AI R&amp;D<\/strong>, with a focus on developing and\/or applying models that can <strong>jointly reason across multiple modalities<\/strong> relevant to ocean science\u2014such as imagery, acoustics, 3D seafloor mapping\/bathymetry, sequenced eDNA, and chemical and physical water property measurements\u2014to support research, discovery, and scientific understanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This role requires flexibility, adaptability, curiosity, and the ability to successfully navigate shifting agendas, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment. This position will play a supporting role in communicating to the general public to raise awareness of ocean conservation and the innovative work OceanX is undertaking. The Digital Correspondent position maintains an internal database and partners with the team to raise awareness of OceanX\u2019s work and programs by utilizing digital media to create engaging and dynamic content. Immersive Media Fellow<\/strong> \u00a0\u2013 Use technology, such as virtual reality, augmented reality, game design, and UX\/UI, to engage audiences with ocean exploration and education.<\/button>\n<div class=\"accordion-content\">\n\t\n\n<p><strong>Role Summary: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this position, the <strong>Ocean Futures Fellow \u2013 Immersive Media<\/strong> supports both the OceanX Education and OceanX Singapore teams in their efforts to create innovative programming and content that furthers the goals of OceanX to increase ocean literacy. In this role, the Fellow will draw on their passion, creativity and experience with ocean science and conservation and\/or ocean literacy to develop dynamic content for immersive media, events, and public programming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Fellow will also explore and apply emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), to enhance storytelling, learning design, audience engagement, and content development across OceanX platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Essential Functions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Professional Development<\/strong>: Engage in ongoing professional development training to develop and expand understanding of ocean literacy principles, ocean leadership, and public speaking skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Content Development<\/strong>: Utilize experience, creativity and passion for ocean conservation and literacy to support OceanX Education\u2019s team, partners, and developers to create immersive media initiatives for variety of external stakeholders Leverage AI-enabled tools (e.g., generative media, text, image, video, or audio tools) to support ideation, prototyping, content iteration, and learning asset development while adhering to OceanX ethical and brand standards.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Design Process Experience<\/strong>: Support teams with a focus on user interface and experience. Marketing and Communications Fellow <\/strong>\u2013 Assist in planning and executing strategic, cross\u2011channel campaigns while gaining experience in content creation, digital communications, and collaborative project work.<\/button>\n<div class=\"accordion-content\">\n\t\n\n<p><strong>Role Summary: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this role, the <strong>Ocean Futures Fellow \u2013 Marketing &amp; Communications<\/strong> will support OceanX&#8217;s MarComms team in planning, creating, and executing strategic campaigns and communications initiatives that advance ocean science, exploration, and conservation. This Fellow will gain hands-on experience across multiple marketing functions including content creation, campaign coordination, digital communications, CRM management, and cross-functional project support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This role provides exposure to strategic planning, storytelling, and audience engagement across diverse channels and stakeholders\u2014from scientists and educators to partners and the public. In addition, Fellows must commit to attend meetings and collaborate with OceanX team members during Singapore business hours (SGT) for the duration of the six-month fellowship. Note, the Marketing and Communications Fellow has flexibility to work either SGT business hours or New York (ET) business hours for the duration of the six-month fellowship. This will be determined based on the location of the Marketing and Communications Fellow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stipend<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Fellows will receive a monthly stipend to support their full-time participation in the program. This stipend&nbsp;<strong>does not<\/strong> include additional allowances for housing, relocation, transportation, dependents, or other personal expenses.
